Support for illness. Guidance for care. Space for you.

It’s Nice to Meet You.

Hi, I’m Amanda Dodson, founder of Counseling and Care Planning. I support individuals and families navigating serious illness, caregiving, and complex medical decisions.

You may be feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to move forward. I offer a steady, compassionate space to talk through what’s happening, find clarity, and feel more supported as you navigate what comes next.

While my work primarily focuses on care planning and family-centered conversations, I also offer counseling support. Our practice includes an additional clinician who provides dedicated counseling, so you can receive the kind of support that best fits your needs.

Care Planning

We offer structured care planning sessions for individuals, couples, and families facing age-related adjustments, serious illness, caregiving decisions or end-of-life questions. When information is coming quickly and choices feel urgent, these sessions create space to slow down and think clearly. Together, we strengthen understanding within the family, clarify shared values, and move toward next steps that feel thoughtful rather than rushed. Sessions are held virtually or, when appropriate, in your home in the Denver area.

Counseling

We offer virtual counseling for adults and families across Colorado who are navigating aging, health changes, new diagnoses, caregiving stress, grief, or end-of-life decisions. When medical appointments, shifting abilities, and changing roles begin to feel overwhelming, therapy provides a steady place to pause and think clearly. We help you process emotions, adjust to changes in identity and independence, strengthen communication, and make decisions that reflect your values. Sessions are secure and held over video, with limited in-person availability in the Denver area.

Support Groups

We offer virtual support groups for adults navigating aging, serious illness, caregiving, grief and end-of-life. These groups provide a steady, compassionate space to connect with others who truly understand the complexities of your experience. Groups are held securely online, allowing you to join from anywhere in Colorado.
